I recently attended the ALLIANCE conference, this year held in Music City . . . Nashville, Tennessee. The conference was well attended and informative, and the hotel was huge and amazing. But what caught my eye was a BBQ restaurant that I passed daily on the drive from the convention center to the hotel.
Now I love me some BBQ, and was going to stop in for lunch, until I saw a sign out front that read “Come on in and see the LIVE Catfish”. Catfish, live or otherwise, are not a draw for me, but especially in a BBQ joint where I have brisket and macaroni and cheese on my mind. Perhaps I was not the target market for this advertising ploy, because I opted to drive on down the road to a different restaurant to find my brisket glory. BBQ? Yes, please. Live catfish, well, no thank you.
